More Than a
Thrift Store
Circle of Care / Community Care Council Inc. has fulfilled its mission of helping people in Forsyth for over three decades. It provides assistance with food, utilities, rent and other aspects of life that are essential to Monroe County families and individuals in need.
At its helm is a board of nine dedicated volunteers — supported by nine paid employees, community service workers, and 10–12 committed volunteers who sort, clean, price and display donated items at the Thrift Shop. Many family members and friends of board members regularly give their time as well.
Circle of Care is a Christian multidenominational organisation, providing emergency short-term resource assistance for individuals and families in need, as well as long-term support through counselling and education in financial and resource management.
Visit Us
Our Thrift Shop is located in a large former warehouse on West Adams Street. It receives donations every week and welcomes hundreds of shoppers searching for treasures while supporting our community mission.
Our Services
From emergency utility payments to monthly food distribution, Circle of Care wraps around the whole person — meeting immediate needs while supporting lasting stability.
Utility & Housing Assistance
Financial help with utility bills — especially those owed to the City of Forsyth — as well as rent support and housing assistance for families facing crisis situations.
Monthly Food Distribution
Circle of Care funds and organises a monthly food distribution at Christ United Methodist Church — serving 350 families and 600–700 individuals each second Wednesday.
Circle of Care Thrift Shop
Our expansive thrift store at 52 W. Adams Street generates the revenue that funds all community assistance programmes. Clothing, furniture, antiques, electronics and much more.
Emergency & Crisis Support
Help with gas, medicines, clothing and furniture for fire victims, and others facing unanticipated emergencies. 2–3 walk-in requests weekly, plus dozens of phone calls each month.
Recycling Programme
Unsellable items and parts are recycled to raise additional funds. Metal and cardboard are recycled locally in Forsyth. Shoes are sent to Haiti; children’s clothes to Little Children of the World.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are always needed — sorting, pricing and displaying donated items; delivering food to seniors and shut-ins; and working at the monthly food distribution from 9 AM onward.
Shop with Purpose

Every purchase directly funds emergency assistance for Monroe County families and individuals — making every bargain find a genuine act of community care. Items are colour-coded and discounted after one month; after three months, goods go to the Macon Rescue Mission.
The store offers nearly anything your heart could desire — from antiques and furniture to clothing, electronics and more — all at tremendously discounted prices.
Our large thrift shop stocks a wide variety of donated goods — all priced to move and all supporting our community mission.
Supporting the Whole Community
Circle of Care contributes to a wide network of local ministries and organisations — because a stronger community means stronger families.
Beyond direct assistance, Circle of Care regularly donates to and supports partner organisations across Monroe County — from the Boys & Girls Club to elder care, pregnancy services, animal welfare and housing rehabilitation. Circle of Care is able to help others because of the donations it receives of money, time and goods from the community it serves.
